Reservation Policies for Individual Bookings
Hotel rooms at special rates are being held for SIU Congress participants. Reservations must be made through the Housing Bureau to guarantee the rates negotiated for the Congress. All rates are quoted in US dollars, per night and per room, and do not include taxes.
Foreigners don't have to pay VAT or City Tax if they live abroad and pay in US dollars, traveler's checks or credit card. Chileans will have to pay in pesos, plus pay VAT.
Hotel rooms must be reserved by sending the enclosed housing form to the Housing Bureau before October 1, 2008.
After this date, rooms cannot be guaranteed. Rooms will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations can only be guaranteed for the period specified on the housing form, which should be duly completed with the credit card details and sent by fax or email to CMC. Any change in arrival or departure date, or type of accommodation required, should be immediately indicated in writing to the Housing Bureau. Adjustments will be made according to hotel availability.
The balance for your accommodation should be paid directly to the hotel at the end of your stay. CMC will issue a letter confirming your reservation details by email.
Check In/Out
Check-in time is 1500 and check-out is 1200. If you arrive before 1500, your room may not be ready, so if your flight comes early in the morning, you will have to pay one night in advance so they can ensure your accommodation. If you decide to leave the hotel after 1200, you will be charged a penalty.
Group Reservations
Requests for group reservations must be made through the Housing Bureau. Please note that hotels have been instructed to direct group inquiries to CMC Organizadores Profesionales S.A.
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing (email, letter or fax) to the Housing Bureau as follows:
Cancellations made before September 15, 2008: no penalty.
Cancellations made after September 15, 2008: two nights' penalty.
Cancellations made after October 15, 2008: full stay penalty.
This policy is applicable to all individual hotel reservations. Penalties will be charged to the credit card number provided on the housing form.
